Hugo Zepeda, ex sacerdote: "Un pedófilo abusará con o sin celibato"
El teólogo pide sospechar de un cura que sólo desea trabajar con niños o jóvenes.
"Doloroso lo de los religiosos pedófilos en Brasil, pero ojo que son pocos comparados con los 20 mil sacerdotes que hay allí. La mayoría de quienes ejercen el sacerdocio son dignos y castos. En Chile los casos son ocho o diez y los sacerdotes son cerca de 6 mil", se apresura a decir con voz ronca Hugo Zepeda, conocido teólogo y ex sacerdote.
-¿Y por qué se descarriaron ellos, entonces?
-Es que hoy día estamos viviendo en una sociedad tan erotizada... aunque eso no justifica nada. Por otro lado, los sistemas de seminario actuales vienen de 100 años atrás y las exigencias de los sacerdotes han aumentado y cambiado ahora... Yo creo que entran a la Iglesia con ese problema buscando un refugio o tratando de redimir sus culpas. Por eso la Iglesia debe tomar una medida contra la homosexualidad.
-¿Está diciendo que sólo los homosexuales son pedófilos?
-No, la pedofilia puede ser homo o heterosexual pero los sacerdotes pedófilos en su gran mayoría son homosexuales. Muy pocos abusan de niñitas.
El celibato
-¿Qué culpa tiene el celibato en todo esto?
-El celibato no es lo importante en este asunto de abusos, porque hay gente casada que es pederasta igual. Un pedófilo abusará con o sin celibato. En todo caso, creo que es urgente que la Iglesia discuta al respecto, porque el voto de castidad no ha sido instituido por Jesucristo, es una ley posterior de la Iglesia. Claro que ahí viene todo un problema: Si el sacerdote se casa y no puede trabajar en otra cosa, la Iglesia tendría que mantener a su familia, habría que ver cuánto dinero se le dará mensualmente. Y si se casa de nuevo es otra familia más que mantener... Un gran tema.
-¿En sus años de sacerdote vio alguna conducta inmoral?
-Jamás. Ni abusos a niños ni seminaristas homosexuales.
-El mayor error de la Iglesia al enfrentar estas situaciones.
-Es no tomar medidas enérgicas desde el primer momento, creyendo que el traslado de parroquia puede salvar a la persona que ha caído. Apenas se sepa de un homosexual o pederasta se debe prohibir que siga ejerciendo el sacerdocio. No hay que esperar el escándalo público, hay muchos sistemas para ir averiguando antes las cosas.
-¿Por ejemplo?
-Para qué mandar a un sacerdote solo a una parroquia de un pueblo lejano, eso puede hacer que en su soledad tenga conductas impropias. Y hay que sospechar de los curas y seminaristas que insisten en dedicarse sólo a los niños y jóvenes, rechazando cualquier tipo de convivencia con gente mayor; o de los que tengan un exceso de familiaridad con ciertas personas dentro del seminario, la relación debe ser por igual entre todos.
